As part of the topic of "Professions" in science lessons, a carpenter visited the fourth grade today.
The aim was to give the children an insight into a traditional trade. There was a lot to explain and discover, starting with the typical work clothes, the daily work routine, the demonstration of various construction projects and the joint construction of a Leonardo bridge.
A special highlight was the practical work with the versatile material wood. Our guest David Berning instructed the children to make their own nail staircase using a fine saw, sandpaper, hammer and nails. All in all, Mr. Berning's visit was a valuable opportunity to gain a lively insight into the carpentry trade. We would like to thank him for this!
