The last day of the school year always means that we have to say goodbye to the fourth classes.
This year, it was the polar bears, the meerkats and the giraffes who will be moving on to secondary school after the vacations. First, a church service was held in the decorated schoolyard under the motto "In God's flower garden". Here, thanks were given for the past four years and prayers were said for the future of the children, their families and their teachers. The play "The little seed" showed what it needs to grow: Warmth, water and cohesion. Towards the end of the service, the children and their teachers were blessed.
Afterwards, the graduating classes sang "A damn good day" before Mrs. Reckels personally said goodbye to the children with a speech. Then the other classes said goodbye with a little saying and a small gift as a memento of their time together.
When "The best day of your life", again performed by the fourth classes, was sung afterwards, many a tear was shed.
This marked the end of the graduation ceremony for grades 1-3 and they went to their classes with their teachers to receive their certificates. The fourth classes were also due to receive their certificates. But they had their grand entrance on the red carpet in front of the school. Mrs. Reckels called the children up and they received their certificates from their class teachers.
Perhaps this day was the best day of their lives for the time being, but we hope that there will be many more beautiful and wonderful days to come!
