Today we celebrated the opening ceremony for our new first-grade classes at our elementary school. For the children in the Hedgehog Class (class teacher Ms. Hoppe) and the Bee Class (class teacher Ms. Bobermin-Keen), this marked the beginning of a whole new, exciting adventure.
This special day began with a heartwarming orientation service at St. George’s Church. Afterward, the celebration continued in the schoolyard, where our principal, Ms. Reckels, warmly welcomed all the families. The third-grade classes set the right festive mood by welcoming our new classmates with wonderful musical performances. While the parents waited over coffee and refreshments, things got really exciting for the first-graders: they experienced their very first real lesson in their new classroom. After all that hard work, they had time to take photos in the classroom before heading home with their school goodie bags bursting at the seams to continue the celebration with their families.
We wish all the Hedgehogs and Bees a fantastic start and a wonderful time in elementary school!
