Under bright sunshine, the entire school community gathered in front of the school building to bid a festive farewell to the fourth-grade students. The spotlight on this special day was on the Pfötchen Class, the Kangaroo Class, and the Raccoons. The graduation ceremony began with a warm welcome from Ms. Reckels, who greeted all the guests and set the tone for this emotional day.
Afterward, everyone in attendance joined together for a solemn church service. The service centered on the touching theme “Treasures in the Heart.” During the service, the children looked back on their time in elementary school and recalled all the precious moments, experiences, and friendships they had gathered over the past years—treasures they now carry in their hearts. They also received a blessing for their future journey through life.
Following the service, the “fourth graders” proudly performed two songs. Between the musical performances, emotions ran high once again: Each class said goodbye with best wishes for the future and a small gift as a lasting memento.
For the grand finale, the children in the graduating classes were allowed to walk down a red carpet like stars to proudly receive their report cards. Meanwhile, grades 1 through 3 went to their respective classrooms, where the report cards were also handed out. It was an all-around successful farewell filled with tears of joy, pride, and beaming faces.
